Attorney Profile

Nathan attended the University of New Hampshire where he graduated magna cum laude. He then went to Roger Williams University School of Law where he continued to excel and graduated in the top ten of his class. While in law school, Nathan was recognized for his skills as a litigator and became one of only two students that were hand selected to represent a man in a high profile case.

After graduating from law school in 2004, Nathan immediately began fighting for the rights of injured Mainers, arguing his first case to the Maine Supreme Court less than six months out of law school. He has fought extensively to protect the rights of injured Mainers in workers’ compensation and personal injury cases. He has successfully litigated thousands of cases involving workplace injuries, many involving catastrophic and complex medical issues including occupational diseases caused by exposure to toxic substances. He has a proven track record of success and has been able to obtain large awards and settlements for clients.

Nathan has also fought extensively to protect the rights of firefighters and other first responders. He won the first firefighter cancer case brought in the State of Maine under the §328-B cancer presumption. That victory was unanimously affirmed by the Appellate Division of the Workers’ Compensation Board in Morrison v. City of Sanford, Me. W.C.B. No. 19-22 (App. Div. 2019). Since then, he has gone on to win numerous cancer claims including multiple myeloma, brain cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer and bladder cancer.

In addition, due to his extensive knowledge regarding workers’ compensation laws, Nathan has been appointed by the Maine Workers’ Compensation Board to numerous rule making committees to represent labor’s interests. He has also testified before the Maine Legislature regarding proposed workers’ compensation legislation in an effort to protect injured worker’s rights, and he has been qualified and testified as an expert witness on workers’ compensation law.

Starting at a young age, the value of hard work was instilled in Nathan. He grew up on a small farm where he learned the value of working hard to earn a living every single day. To support himself through college and law school, in addition to working on the farm, Nathan worked concrete construction and also on a paving crew. He continues to apply those same values and work ethic to every single case to make sure that his clients get the best representation possible.
